my first railroad run

New postby taylor.skiles » Mon Jun 21, 2010 5:56 pm

I'm doing my first run in september. I was Just wondering If I should buy my tickets early or not. I would rather not buy them now because I dont want to pay ticketmaster fees. I would rather get them at the door. On the other hand it would suck to show up and have it be sold out.
these are the shows were hitting up
09.18.10 in Minneapolis, MN
09.19.10 in Fargo, ND
09.21.10 in Bozeman, MT
09.22.10 in Missoula, MT
09.24.10 in Portland, OR
09.25.10 in Seattle, WA
09.26.10 in Eugene, OR
and maybe 09.28.10 in Arcata, CA if we still have any money left.

see you on the road hobos!

YAH! That run looks sweet! I have a feeling a few more of us may join parts of this run as well. I have certainly had my eye on it this year. Starting in Chicago & heading west! Not sure if I can make it all the way. I may have to fly back to chicago for a bit from Bozman or somewhere, & rejoin back up in OR or Tahoe or something. I have never been on this run through MN, Dakota, & MT before so, I'm not sure if you will need advance tickets or not, but I know if you are headed to chicago or any of the PNW or cali shows, advance tickets will be required especially on weekend shows. I don't like to take any chances. Ahhh, I remember my first RRE run like it was yesterday, always the best of times on RRE tour! hehehe. Your run looks EPIC! perhaps we'll see you on the road! I have to get through High Sierra first. Enjoy!

Yeah man im really pumped for this. We will have at least one extra seat in the car and we have a solid place to stay in almost every city. We might do a hotel in Fargo though. We could give rides to the next show and most likley hook up a place to sleep for other hobos, as long as your not a crazy wook.

Cant wait for these shows!

I've seen traveling hobos get shut out. I always buy in advance, I figure the service fee compare the rest of the cost of travel is small and is like insurance to make sure whatever else may happen at least you can go the show (if you get to town). But outside the Portland show you can probably get away with buying the box office opens the day of.

I would guess that the show here in Minneapolis will sell out. It's a Saturday night with Cornmeal in town on Thursday night too, so there will be lots of people in town that weekend. If you want I can pick up some extra tickets and meet up with you before the show so that you don't have to pay ticketmaster fees if you didn't buy them yet. Let me know.

Yea I'm from Minneapolis. Are you talking about about the Harvest fest in or Ozarks or the one in MN? I was planning on going to the one in the Ozarks last here, but ended up having other obligations and not being able to go. I gave my ticket to a friend and she said it was amazing. Straight bluegrass festival filled with big hitters. This years lineup looks just as good or maybe even better, with the likes of Salmon, Sam Bush, the McCoury's, Mountain Sprout, Poor Man's Whiskey, Oakhurst, Yonder, and of coarse the boys themselves, Railroad. I'm trying to make sure that I can get down there, but other obligations might hold me back, but keeping a positive outlook that I'll be there. I wasn't able to get down to Waka this year, so I want to make sure I make it down to the Ozarks this year atleast once; it's such a beautiful area there, and in October the temperature will actually be reasonable that you can make it to all the day shows and be comfortable.

No, I'm taking about the little harvest festival in MN. Mostly local bands. My friends are in a grass band called Pert Near Sandstone and they are playing the fest this year. Thought I would fly in early and check it out.
